I know Paul's take on gold is going to chafe with some of you, but I think it's worth listening to because this shake-out in gold, while inflation expectations rise, has me scratching my head... US dollar is obviously one of the biggest stories right now and the idea that de-dollarization is actually bullish for USD is counter-intuitive but also makes perfect sense.

I realize that this episode was taped before the latest China inflation figures came out but one has to now question Krake's assertion that "the only way a debt explosion becomes a problems is if you have domestic inflation" and that "overcapacity issues guarantee that you won't have inflation".

Since then, of course, we've seen both CPI and PPI numbers heat up and nothing in the data suggests that this is an aberration. If anything, quite the opposite.
